- MSU announces a newly certified comprehensive course for railroad employees that show potential for professional growth and increased management capabilities.
- The Session II course was developed and evaluated by the Railway Management Program Staff, working closely with Class I and Class II railroad education and training directors, as well as the AAR, ASL&RRA, and FRA decision makers, and other transportation industry leaders.
- The Session II course consists of four weeks of classroom and field experiences, linked to on-line sessions with an assigned instructor who will be responsible for mentoring the learning experience.
- In order to utilize the best in adult learning practices, class size will be limited to a maximum of twenty-five students, and the railroad companies participating in the Curriculum Content Advisory Committee will have priority choice in the available openings for each class.
- The investment per participant for the upcoming 2008-2009 session will be $14,500 prior to September 1, 2008 and $15,000 after, and will include all instructional materials, faculty, staff support, sleeping rooms, and daily breakfast and lunch. Transportation to and from the course and dinner most nightsisl not included.
- The first week of the Session II Certificate Course is scheduled for October 5-10, 2008. Registration is now open and will be available through September 15, 2008.
